Disappointed is an Understatement
Down the stretch, both teams struggled from the line, but it ultimately costed Clemson the game in a 59-57 loss. Clifford and Jackson went 1-4 from the line for BC down the stretch, but Clemson's misses proved to be more fatal. First, Tanner Smith miss one of his three free throws with a chance to take the lead while drawing a foul on a three-point attempt. Then, in the waning seconds, Milton Jennings was fouled and only split his pair to keep the Tigers down one. Finally, Jennings (3-12 FG) missed an easy jumper and Devin Booker was fouled on a lucky call with a second left. He then goes and misses the first one and follows it up with a lane violation on an intentional miss, and that was the ballgame. Disappointment is the wrong word. I think embarrassment better suits that effort in a game you need to win. If you can't beat BC, how in the world will you even put up a fight against UNC, Duke, UVA, top teams in the league? At 9-7, 1-1 in league play, there are only more question marks rather than answers for these Tigers.
