PALATINE, Ill. – Harper College baseball player Kurt Becker (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) was recently named a 2014 NJCAA DIII Baseball Second Team All-American, as announced by the NJCAA national office.
The
sophomore third baseman hit .494 with three homers, 30 RBIs, 15
doubles, four triples, 14 steals, a .531 OBP, a .694 slugging percentage
and also had a 24-game hitting streak from April 1-25. Becker also
earned NJCAA Div. III Player of the Week, N4C Conference MVP, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region and Harper College Athlete of the Week honors.
Becker becomes the first Harper baseball All-American since Vine Edward earned All-American status in 1997 for the Hawks.
