Game Preview: Harper vs. Oakton

PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team is looking to bounce back from a weekend loss as they take on Oakton Community College tonight at 5 PM. The Hawks fell 103-62 to Kennedy-King College on Saturday while the Raiders are coming off a 64-55 victory over Triton on Saturday.

Last Meeting

The two teams last clashed on Dec. 11, 2012, a game won 58-55 by the Hawks. Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill./The Willows Academy) scored 33 points and ripped down 18 rebounds in the contest and scored the game-winner with 19 seconds to play.

Key Players

Through 10 games of her sophomore season, Hinderer is averaging 21.9 PPG (10th in nation) and 14.3 RPG (fifth in nation). Over her last three games, she is scoring 27.0 PPG on 64.7 percent shooting (33-of-51).

Point guard Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill./Schaumburg Christian Academy) has scored 25 or more points in three of her last four games and was recently named Harper College Athlete of the WeekShante Hill (/Hoffman Estates) is finding her shooting stroke over the last three games, scoring 11.7 PPG.

Guard Alicia Gutierrez leads the Oakton attack, averaging 12.1 PPG. Sophomore guard Jasmine Gray is the team's second-leading scorer at 10.9 PPG and also averages 7.0 RPG.
