WHEATON, Ill. – In their third outdoor meet of 2014, the Harper College women's track and field team had five athletes qualify for nationals in their respective events.
Taylor LoCoco (/Prairie Ridge) set a PR in the 400-meter dash and qualified for nationals with a time of 1:07.70. LoCoco also PR'ed in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.97 seconds. Marisa Andreuccetti (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Conant) ran a 2:32.05 in the 800-meter run to qualify.
Lori Delfin (/Wheeling) (43:15.66) and Mary Piltaver (/Conant) (43:39.61) both ran PR and national-qualifying times in the 10k. Lara Sladek (/St. Viator) stood out in the hammer throw with a toss of 31.34m (102' 10") for a berth in the national meet.
Other notable performances included a PR from Stephanie Hurwitz (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Fremd) in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.25 seconds. In the women's shot put, Cieara Royster () set a personal-best with a toss of 7.89m (25' 10 ¾ "). Anna Lanier (Dominican Republic/Home School) showed promise in the javelin with a toss of 17.08m (56').
Harper is back in action this weekend at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships, hosted by Lewis University in Romeoville.
