The Liberty Lady Flames women's tennis squad will head to Wake Forest and Tennessee for weekend matches, Saturday and Sunday.
The Lady Flames will take on the Demon Deacons (6-2) at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C. Liberty will then head to Knoxville, Tenn., for a showdown with the Vols (7-1) at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Barksdale.
Liberty has never faced either opponent.
Lady Flames Start Season 2-1
The Lady Flames opened the spring season on Feb. 1 with a convincing 7-0 win over Big South opponent Longwood in Lynchburg. Liberty did not drop a set in the match on the way to victory. The Lady Flames swept the three doubles matches and won in straight sets in all six singles contests.

Last Saturday, the Lady Flames came from behind to defeat ETSU, 4-3, at the Crosswhite Athletic Club in Lynchburg. Liberty trailed 3-0 in the match before capturing the last four singles matches.
On Sunday, Louisville handed Liberty its first setback, 6-1, at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Ky.
Crist Garners BSC Player of the Week Honor
Junior Evangeline Crist was announced as the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.

The Lilburn, Ga., native won three of her four matches last week, including a doubles win and two singles victories. Her doubles win with partner Anna Dollar was the duo's 10th of the 2016-17 campaign, while the two singles triumphs gave her 56 singles wins in her career as a Lady Flame.
Experienced Roster
Liberty's spring roster is comprised of one freshman (Eugenia Camacho), four sophomores (Rebekah Anderson, Audrey Brown, Anna Dollar and Aleksandra Panchenko), one junior (Evangeline Crist) and two seniors (Emily Groeneveld and Mariely Hassey).

Crist was a Big South First Team All-Conference singles and doubles player in 2016 as well as a VASID All-State Doubles first team selection. Dollar was a Big South Second Team All-Conference doubles and VaSID All-State Doubles second team selection.

Scouting Wake Forest The Demon Deacons' 2016-17 roster is made up of two freshmen, four sophomores, a junior and three seniors.
Freshman Chandler Carter (11-5) and sophomore Emma Davis (10-4) have the best singles records for Wake Forest. Wake Forest has two players (No. 53 Kimmy Guerin, No. 70 Emma Davis) in the ITA women's singles top-125 rankings.
The Demon Deacons are coached by Jeff Myshner, who is in his seventh year as the head coach. In 2016, Myshner's squad posted a 19-10 record and 7-7 mark in ACC play.
Wake Forest picked up its most recent win, 5-2, at Princeton, on Sunday.

Tennessee is coached by Alison Ojeda. Ojeda, a former Tennessee All-American, was named the seventh women's tennis head coach in program history on Nov. 21, 2016.
The Vols played a doubleheader on Sunday against Furman and Georgia Tech. They defeated Furman, 4-2, and lost to Georgia Tech, 7-0.
