Hawks Make Progress at DuPage Invite

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – The Harper College women's track and field team set more PR's at the College of DuPage Invite on Saturday while taking seventh place as a team.

Distance runner Lori Delfin (/Wheeling) ran a personal-best 21:06.91 in the 5k and finished in second place. Fellow distance specialist Mary Piltaver (/Conant) took third in the same event with a national-qualifying time of 21:13.22.

In the field events, four Harper athletes tried their hand at the javelin, with all setting PR's in the process. Amanda Hagen (/Hoffman Estates) led the group with a toss of 22.77m, followed by Gabby Beaupre (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) (19.91m), Anna Lanier (Dominican Republic/Home School) (16.88m) and Gabrielle Brosnan (Mount Prospect, Ill./Christian Liberty) (16.59m). Hagen also PR'ed in the hammer throw with a toss of 26.00m.

The Hawks return to competition on Saturday at 4 PM at Wheaton College.
