PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper College volleyball team was victorious over Milwaukee Area Technical College Tuesday night, winning in four sets (25-19, 27-29, 25-19, 25-14).
Veronica Dabrowski (Mount Prospect, Ill./Rolling Meadows) continued her strong play for the Hawks (11-10, 3-2 N4C), putting down 10 kills to go with three blocks. In the serving game, Madison Rodriguez (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) and Valerie Bazemore (Houston, Tex./Keller) provided a big boost, serving six and four aces, respectively.
Anna Lanier (Dominican Republic/Home School) led Harper defensively with 10 digs, and Katherine Milla(Honduras/CEAD Christian School) led the team with 12 assists.
"Our inconsistency is continuing to show – no matter who we play," said Harper head coach Bob Vilsoet. "On the other hand, everyone on the team was able to play in this match."
Up next for No. 6 Harper is a key showdown Thursday night against No. 1 Madison (11-2, 5-0 N4C), who has defeated Joliet and Rock Valley already in conference play. The WolfPack topped the Hawks in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-14) on Aug. 24 to win the College of DuPage 18th Annual Classic crown. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM in the gym of the Wellness & Sports Center (Building M).
