Hawks Fade in Second Half, Lose to Daley

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Harper College women's basketball team could not hold a six-point halftime lead as Richard J. Daley College pulled out a 58-51 win on Monday.

The Hawks (2-12) led 31-25 at halftime, but the Bulldogs (4-10) erased the deficit and outscored Harper 33-20 after the break.

Monica Hinderer (Arlington Heights, Ill./The Willows Academy) scored 29 points and ripped down a career-high 23 rebounds. Hinderer was efficient from the field, as she went 7-of-10 shooting and also made 14-of-16 free throws. Rachel Payne (Wheeling, Ill./Schaumburg Christian Academy) added 11 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.

J'henna Hall led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Richard J. Daley shot just 29 percent (20-of-69) from the floor while the Hawks shot 37.1 percent (13-of-35).

Harper plays a N4C road game at Wright tomorrow at 5 PM.
