On Friday against Big South unbeaten Charleston Southern, the San Jose, Costa Rica, native played No. 1 doubles for the first time in her career, teaming up with Rebekah Anderson for a 6-3 triumph over the Bucs' No. 1 unit of Sophie Cloessner and Nicole Luecke. The Liberty duo's victory clinched the doubles point for the Lady Flames, providing a 1-0 advantage.
Later in the afternoon, Camacho erased a one-set deficit to defeat CSU's Yana Morar, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. Camacho's triumph sealed the match for Liberty and handed Charleston Southern its first Big South loss. The Lady Flames' 4-3 victory also snapped the Bucs' 14-match winning streak dating back to Feb. 11.
Camacho's victory boosted her Big South singles mark to 8-0, this spring. She has only dropped two sets total in those eight matches.
Camacho and the No. 3 seed Lady Flames (11-11) will open postseason play at the 2017 Big South Women's Tennis Championship against No. 6 seed Campbell (8-12), Friday at noon at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
