Widrick Named Big South Defensive Player of the Week

Liberty sophomore goalkeeper Katherine Widrick was selected as the Big South Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office, Tuesday.

Widrick received Big South Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors for her play in a win at Presbyterian, this past Saturday.
Widrick made 11 saves while yielding eight goals in an 18-8 win at Presbyterian, Saturday. The victory was Widrick's first of 2017 and second time she has reached double digits in saves this season. The Camillus, N.Y., native also collected a career-best nine ground balls at PC.

This spring, Widrick has 62 saves, a 12.82 goals-against average (second in Big South) and .397 save percentage in 439:57 in goal. For her career, she is currently No. 3 all-time in program history in saves (154), goals-against average (13.26) and save percentage (.412).

Widrick and the Lady Flames (2-9, 1-0 Big South) return to Big South play on Wednesday at Longwood (5-6, 1-0 Big South) at 4 p.m.
