RIVER GROVE, Ill. – The Harper men's soccer team got on the board early at ninth-ranked Triton College but could not hold the lead, losing 4-2.

The Hawks (0-3, 0-2 N4C) came out fast, as Aldo Figueroa (Wheeling, Ill./Buffalo Grove) beat the Triton goalkeeper on a feed from Ryan Murphy (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) in the fourth minute to give Harper an early 1-0 advantage.

However, the Trojans responded quickly, scoring goals in the seventh and ninth minutes to claim a 2-1 edge. Triton went ahead 3-1 on a Harper own goal in the 32nd minute.

The score remained the same deep into the second half until Starsky Correa (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) found Murphy, who put the ball in the net in the 82nd minute to cut the deficit to 3-2. The goal was Murphy's second in as many games. The Hawks made a push to tie the game but came up short as the Trojans added a final goal in the 85th minute.

The Hawks return to the field Friday at Madison at 4:00 PM.
