PALATINE, Ill. – New head men's basketball coach Justin Welke continued strengthening his recruiting class, as Vuk Vukovic recently signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent to play for the Hawks.
Vukovic,
a 6-foot-1 shooting guard from Hersey High school and current Harper
student, earned team Most Valuable Athlete and Best Defensive Player
awards for the Huskies. Vukovic also played soccer and water polo for
Hersey.
Vukovic, a kinesiology major, was
injured last August as he prepared for the Harper basketball season but
is fully healed and eager for the 2014-15 season.
"I'm
ready to put work in for the team to get quicker and better. It's a lot
more work than just playing a pick-up game. You have to go to the gym
and train," Vukovic said.
