Liberty Head Field Hockey Coach Nikki Parsley has announced the addition of Jacki Bolt to the coaching staff.
Bolt
returns to the Liberty field hockey staff as the goalkeeping and
defensive coach after spending the past year as an assistant at William
& Mary. Bolt served as an assistant coach for the Lady Flames under
Jodi Murphy during the program's first five years (2011-15).
"I
am thrilled to be back with the Flames and extremely grateful for the
opportunity to work with (head coach) Nikki (Parsley) as we look to
continue to further develop the championship culture within the
program," Bolt stated. "I was blessed to be a part of the program's
early success and I am humbled by the opportunity to be a part of this
next era of Liberty Field Hockey."
Bolt served as the
goalkeepers coach in her first stint with Liberty while also providing
administrative support for the program, assisting with recruiting and
team travel. Under Bolt's guidance, Liberty goalkeepers, Mallory Cuccio
(1st, 1.01 GAA in 2012) and Ann Jefferis (3rd, 0.95 GAA in 2013), ranked
in the top-three in the nation in goals-against average. The Lady
Flames also won back-to-back NorPac Championships in 2013 and 2014,
earning NCAA Tournament berths in both years.
In Bolt's lone
year with the William & Mary Tribe, she worked with the Tribe
goalkeepers and also assisted with administration, recruiting and
on-the-field coaching. With Bolt's aid, Tribe freshman goalkeeper,
Morgan Connor, was named to the CAA All-Rookie team. Connor was also
named the CAA Rookie of the Week on one occasion (Sept. 21, 2016).
"Jacki's
deep-rooted passion for Jesus and extensive knowledge of Liberty make
her an immediate asset to our team. Her joy in life is infectious, and
her hockey knowledge will help take our program to new heights," Parsley
said. "For student-athletes who desire to grow athletically, socially,
academically, and spiritually, Jacki will be an incredible mentor to the
players during their time at Liberty and beyond. I'm ecstatic to have
her in back in red and blue."
