The Liberty women's lacrosse team will play a non-conference game against Commonwealth opponent William & Mary, Wednesday evening.
The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field in Williamsburg, Va.
Wednesday night's contest will be the second-ever meeting between the two programs. The two squads met for the first time last season, a game won by William & Mary, 10-5, on March 26, 2016.
The Lady Flames enter Wednesday's game with a 1-7 mark, looking to snap a six-game losing skid. The Tribe are 2-7 overall on the season and have lost two straight.

The Lady Flames are currently in the middle part of a six-game road trip. Following Wednesday's game, Liberty will travel to VCU for a 1 p.m. match, Saturday. The road trip wraps up with Big South Conference matches at Presbyterian (April 1) and Longwood (April 5)

Liberty's next home game will not be until April 8, when the Lady Flames take on Big South opponent Campbell at noon at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
Marvelous McCaffrey
Sophomore midfielder Brianna McCaffrey has come on strong in her sophomore campaign. Through eight games this season, McCaffrey is tied for the team lead with 18 points (13 g, 5 a) after recording 16 points in 18 contests as a freshman.

In Liberty's most recent contest at Robert Morris on March 13, McCaffrey scored a career-high four goals while adding two assists for a career-best six points. The sophomore scooped up a team-high six ground balls and won four draw controls.

- As a team, Liberty is No. 12 in the country in ground balls per game (21.63) and No. 23 in the country in caused turnovers per game (11.00).
- Through eight games, Liberty possesses a 173-168 edge over its opponents in ground balls, led by 24 from senior defender Victoria Tickle (fifth in the Big South, 33rd in the nation at 3.00/game).
- McCaffrey is No. 50 in the country in free position goals per game (0.75) and No. 52 in free position percentage (.545).
- Junior defender Lindsey McNamara is tied for fourth in the Big South in caused turnovers per game (1.63) and No. 66 in the nation in the stat.

Senior Abby Junior is the anchor for William & Mary's defense. Junior is sixth in the country in caused turnovers per game (3.00) and 12th in ground balls per game (3.75). Offensively, the Tribe is paced by senior midfielder Lindsey Jenks (17 g, 7 a, 24 pts) and junior midfielder McKinley Wade (16 g, 3 a, 19 pts). Both players are No. 31 in NCAA DI in free position percentage (.600).
Senior goalkeeper Alex Lista (1-6, 12.60 GAA, 62 SV) has seen the most time in net for William & Mary, while freshman Elsa Rall (1-1, 16.34 GAA, 26 SV) may also see action in goal for fourth-year head coach Hillary Fratzke.
