Hassey put together another impressive week, last week, by posting 2-0 records in both doubles and singles play.
"Mariely has saved her best tennis for her senior year," said Liberty Head Women's Tennis Coach Jeff Maren. "She is playing with great composure and maturity and has the confidence to compete against anyone. I'm very proud of her leadership this year."

On Sunday at No. 46 UCF, Hassey triumphed again in doubles with Groeneveld, 6-3, over Elizabeth Bagerbaseh and Nicole Jimenez. She went on to win at No. 5 singles over the Knights' Bagerbaseh (7-5, 6-3)
Hassey leads the team with 12 singles victories during the 2016-17 season. The Arizona native is also the Lady Flames' active leader with 61 career singles wins, which is fifth-most in program history.
After four straight matches away from Lynchburg, Hassey and the Lady Flames (5-5) will return home to face George Washington (6-4) at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
