PALATINE, Ill. – The Harper
College baseball program welcomed in their first wave of class of 2014
recruits on Saturday afternoon. Six players signed their NJCAA Letters
of Intent to play for Harper College and head coach Cliff Brown next season.
James Walthers (Lockport), Ryan Nudd (St. Edwards), Brandon Kaminski
(Joliet Catholic), Jonathan Nugent (Huntley), Nathaniel Paprota
(Plainfield Central) and Tucker Robinson (Tuscola) will join a Hawks
program that was one game away from the NJCAA World Series in 2013 and
shows promise in 2014.

"We are excited to welcome in these six guys into the Hawks family,"
Brown said. "We look forward to seeing these players grow both
academically and athletically once they get here."
Walthers is a senior at Lockport whose primary position is pitcher. He
is planning on studying to be an athletic trainer. Nudd, a middle
infielder, will complete his senior season at St. Edwards in Elgin this
spring and is a four-year varsity starter.
Kaminski was a pitcher on the Joliet Catholic team that won the state
title in 2013. He also is a three-year letter winner in football and
letter winner in basketball. Nugent, a third baseman, has been a key
piece to a Huntley program that went 27-8 in spring of 2013 and won
their conference. The Red Raiders also made the summer league state
finals in 2013.
Paprota is a senior outfielder at Plainfield Central and a National
Honor Society member who has earned two letters in baseball. Robinson, a
senior at Tuscola High School, primarily plays first base and can also
play catcher. He is a two-year letter winner in baseball and letter
winner in golf who was named most improved player.
