SOMERS, Wis. – The Harper
College women's track and field team opened their season at the fourth
annual Parkside Classic hosted by UW-Parkside on Saturday. The Hawks
scored 16 points to finish in eighth place out of eight teams in the
meet.
UW-Parkside captured the team title in convincing fashion with 155
points, followed by runner-up Wisconsin Lutheran with 72 points and
Cardinal Stritch with 70 points.

Harper's Stephanie Hurwitz (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Fremd)
qualified for the 55-meter dash finals with a time of 7.90 seconds and
ran the same time in the finals to take seventh place and earn points.
Hurwitz finished as the Hawks' top 200-meter dash runner as well with a
time of 28.71 seconds (11th place).
The 4x400m relay team of Hurwitz, Taylor LoCoco (/Prairie Ridge), Amanda Hagen (/Hoffman Estates), and Gabrielle Brosnan (Mount Prospect, Ill./Christian Liberty)
earned points with a season-opening time of 4:59:13. Brosnan also
earned points with a fifth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of
1:13.63.
Lori Delfin (/Wheeling) took ninth place in the mile run with a time of 6:27.41 in her college track and field debut.
The Harper women are back in action on Friday at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships at North Central College.
