Team Lindstrom 20 25 45 (1-1)
It certainly helps a team of mostly 6-foot tall white guys
to help an explosive point guard who can penetrate into the line and kick out
to his shooters. That is exactly what happened in game two of the Harvest hoops
since for our maroon team. Last week, Devaughn was late, butwe got it rolling
once he got there. In this game, it certainly helped to have him for his
quickness and ability to score the ball as well.
We took a four-point lead into halftime as we fought and
clawed for rebounds throughout the half. I don’t know if we’ll ever have a size
advantage against a team, but we were once again going up against some big
boys, including the team captain Jon Lindstrom.
After the break, we began to click, and Paul Von Tobel, who
missed the first game, caught fire from beyond the 3-point line. Joe and Eric
also hit big 3-pointers in the second half to squelch any thought of a comeback
for our opponents. Devaughn also had some big buckets, and his presence on the
court made life easier for our shooters. The end result was a 15-point margin
of victory against a solid opponent.
Before the game we met for our first official devotional. We’ve
decided to encourage each other and hold each other accountable for how much
time we are spending in God’s Word. It’s a blessing to have brothers in Christ
who care and want to help you in your walk. We had a good discussion about God’s
promises, and it was cool to hear everyone being transparent about what they
read and how it applies.
